Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia expressed his sincere condolences to the family of the late Major General Francis Vib-Sanziri, Chief of Mission and Commander of the United Nations Force to observe the disengagement in the Golan Heights.
Major General Vib-Sanziri died Friday, April 19 in the port city of Eilat, in southern Israel. In Facebook and Twitter publications, Vice President Bawumia paid tribute to the quality leadership of Major-General Vib-Sanziri, his dedication and positive attitude to work and life. .
"The last time I met him, it was during my visit to Ghanaian troops in Lebanon last year.
"I did not know that when I said goodbye to him, it would be the last time I saw him alive," said the vice president.
"My sincere condolences to his family.
"May his soul rest in peace," he says.
Major-General Vib-Sanziri, 62, has been in command of the multinational force since September 2017 after succeeding Major-General Jai Shanker Menon of India, who completed his mission on September 30, 2017.
