Venezuela and Peru started their Copa America with a 0-0 draw on Saturday, in a match marked by two Peruvian goals scored following a consultation with the VAR (Video Assistant Referee).
Christofer Gonzales' 11th-minute goal was denied for offside earlier, and Jefferson Farfan suffered the same fate 19 minutes into the second half.

The match became more tense after Venezuela sent Luis Mago 16 minutes from the end.
Peru was unfortunate enough not to miss the three points. Venezuelan goalkeeper Wuilker Farinez made a great stop on a reflex to escape the ball in the very last minutes of the match.
"We are a little angry because we think we deserve to win," said Peruvian captain Paulo Guerrero. "We just could not find the last ball.
"We did what we could, we only missed one goal."
The first half was a stop-start affair, but things improved in the second half, Peru's imposing face against its opponents, one of only two South American teams to n & # 39; 39, having never won the Copa America.
The draw meant the two teams tied for second in Group A, behind Brazil, who beat Bolivia 3-0 in the opening match of the tournament on Friday.
Peru will face Bolivia on Tuesday in the second round and Brazil will face Venezuela the same day.
