Nandom (U / WR),
April 8, GNA – Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President, led a week
government delegation to join the Nandom Traditional Council members for
Nandom-Naa fire service, Naa (Dr) Puoure Puobe Chiir VII.
It was
accompanied by the Minister of the Interior and Member of Parliament for Nandom
Electoral District, Mr. Ambrose Dery; Member of Parliament for the constituency of Lawra and
Mr Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, and the High
Western Regional Minstre.
He gave money
GH ¢ 10,000.00, while Regional Minister Hafiz Bin, Regional Minister of the Upper West
Salih gave GH ¢ 2,000.00.
Former
President and Flag Bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. John Dramani
Mahama and her entourage also attended the ceremony and donated 5,000 GH ¢.
The National
The House of Chiefs was also represented by a powerful delegation led by the President
of the West West Chiefs Chamber and Member of the Kuoro Council of State
Richard Kanton VI, who is also chairman of the traditional Tumu council.

were introduced by Naa Dr. Enerst Sangson-Tulong I, Gengenkpe-Naa.
Naa Dr Chiir
VII was the seventh supreme chief of the traditional region Nandom and son of Naa
Puobe Imoru and was born on the 13thth October 1945 in Nandom.
He attended the
Local Authorities and Intermediate Schools in Nandom from 1951 to 1958 before
going to Tamale Public High School (now Tamale Senior High
School).
He got
General Certificate of Education, Ordinary Level (1st Division) and advanced level.
Naa Dr Puoure
Puobe Chiir VII has been described as an extremely brilliant student who has won several
rewards including; Second best student in French at national high school level
School French Contest organized at the University of Ghana, Legon as
second best student of Latin in a contest organized in Achimota
High School, both in 1963.
The end
Nandom-Naa was bagged on 2North Dakota May 1985 at the age of 40 and died in August
2018.
Naa Puoure
Puobe Chiir VII ruled for 33 years and survived with seven children.
He played
various leadership roles during his reign and was elected vice president
of the National House of Chiefs of 17th March 1999 to 2001
