The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has added its voice to the barrage of convictions that has welcomed a shootout at La Bawalashie last Thursday.

The cause of the shots has not yet been established. However, at least six people were shot and wounded.
The opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) MP Samuel George was badaulted by one of the security agents.
Police said they opened an investigation into the incident.
In a press release issued on Monday, the Ghana Bar Association said "It is extremely alarming and shameful that people are shot and wounded and others, including a member of Ghana's legislative branch of government. , be badaulted by persons some of whom, masked and unequivocally condemns the actions of the perpetrators. "
The GBA stated that the use of firearms and violence in a by-election was a serious inconvenience for Ghana's hard-won democratic powers and a threat to the rule of law and our democracy.
