The confirmation of Wanyama's return could end rumors that the former Celtic and Southampton midfielder would be about to be sold in the current transfer window.
The arrival of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon means that Kenyan will have a tough competition in the midfield right from the kickoff of 2019/20.
Wanyama's playing time was drastically reduced last season due to a knee injury that forced him to play 13 Premier League matches.
