A small divine intervention arrived in the news cycle on Thursday, thanks to the trailer of HBO's religious comedy Precious gems.

Created by and featuring Danny McBride (To the east and to the bottom, deputy directorsThe half-hour satire is centered on the Gemstones, a family of world-renowned televangelists led by Patriarch Eli (The connersJohn Goodman). McBride, Adam Devine (Workaholic) and Edi Patterson (Deputy Directors) are respectively Jesse, Kelvin and Judy, the three children of Eli.

According to the official synopsis, "the clan perpetuates a long tradition of deviance, greed and charity" – and, at the very least, the first two elements of this list are set out in the trailer above, with one side badist. and fraternal rivalry.

The whole comedy also includes Cbadidy Freeman (Smallville) as Jesse's wife, Amber, who abandoned her journalism career to devote herself fully to her husband and church; Tony Cavalero (The rock school) as a former satanist Keefe Chambers, faithful servant of precious stones; and Tim Baltz (Veep) as a fiance of Judy, B.J., who struggles to integrate with the Gemstone clan.
