Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) women’s national organizer Dr Hannah Bissiw has said she will oppose any government-sponsored bullying in the country in the future.
She said this after an award ceremony hosted by the Network of Higher Education Institutions (TAIN) at the University of Education, Winneba, Ajumako Campus, over the weekend.
Dr Hannah Bissiw said she was taught never to file a report with the police whenever she was assaulted as it would be a wasteful exercise.
The veterinarian by profession added that she was determined to respond to the same extent whenever she was physically assaulted.
“I was beaten in Ayawaso West Wuogon, I did not file a complaint with the police because they did not give birth to me. In any case, it would have been unnecessary. The president set up a commission and they bastarded the very commission that they set up and so if I had gone to the commission to recount the pain that the thugs and criminals of Akufo-Addo endured some of us and reliving that pain would have been a waste of time. Since that time I have learned that when you slap me I slap you back, if you stab me I stab you back. We should stop this hypocritical attitude of saying that if you beat us and we don’t beat back then there is peace in Ghana, it is false peace. There can never be peace without justice and when I say if you slap me I will slap back then I am violent and you who practice violence? I’m only telling you that we’re going to be diplomats.
“Whatever the NPP government gives us, we in the NDC will give it back to them as well. If they give us love, we will also give them love, if they can caned us, we will also give them back, if they give us shot, we will also give them back the shot.
