In the latest episode of Future You, discover an armband that allows you to control the technological devices with your mind. This is not a brain implant or even a helmet. This is an armband that reads the activity of neurons to allow you to move objects in the digital space. Then it goes further, giving you mental control of the physical robots. Think about the "strength" of Star wars.

Could this fundamentally change the way we interact with our devices? Scientists and engineers who work there say that if this type of technology supports intent, bulky keyboards and tiny smartphone screen buttons will disappear. Instead of controlling our technology with voice or touch, we control it with our thoughts.

This season of Future You is dedicated to the human body and the capabilities we will have over the next few decades. You can find the latest episodes on YouTube or at the address npr.org/futureyou.
