The striker Richmond Boakye scored for Jiangsu Suning FC in his 3-2 defeat to Southampton in the English Premier League Wednesday
The Ghanaian international gave a 2-1 lead to his Chinese Super League team in the 34th minute.
A deep free kick was kept alive at the last post before Boakye shot in the bottom corner of the inside of the box.
But Nathan Redmond equalized the Saints two minutes before the whistle in the first half
Boakye was playing his second competitive game since an ankle injury in late May, the last day of the first round of the Chinese Super League.
His performance is a huge boost for Jiangsu Suning FC before the Chinese Super League second round restart next week
