The national elections of the Union of Musicians of Ghana (MUSIGA) scheduled for today, July 10, were the subject of an injunction.
Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, aspiring presidential candidate, who sought to obtain the injunction from the High Court, explained that there were anomalies in the elections that need to be clearly elucidated.
"It's a national election and we should have a register for each region, but the Electoral Commission has presented us with an album that also lacks names," he told reporters. Andy Dosty, host of the show.

He alleged that the union had registered people beyond the deadline for registration of members, some of whom were not musicians.
Appiah-Levi added that the current system of elections allows members to vote in any part of the country, regardless of where they have registered. This, he explained, can result in multiple votes and rigging.
"It's a national vote and you used the EC, so you should be able to follow the voting style of the country," said Appiah-Levi.
Press release to announce an injunction
According to him, these anomalies affect many members and leaders, including the regional president of the union Upper West.
He calls on the union to put its voting processes and the register at the disposal of union members and aspirants.
"Many members complain, it's not just me," he said.
This is the second time the elections are postponed. The first elections were to take place on Wednesday, June 26 and was moved to July 10.
Aspirants for various positions
The presidency, the first and second vice-presidents and the secretary general positions have two candidates each, competing for places. Three other positions – treasurer, organizer and social badistance officer – are disputed without opposition.
