Video tribute to Cameron Boyce – Disney Channel honors the star of "Descendants"

The first of Descendants 3 was a bittersweet event for Disney Channel viewers, as it featured one of the latest performances by star Cameron Boyce in front of the camera, died last month of an epileptic seizure. He was only 20 years old.

After the Friday broadcast, the channel aired a two-minute tribute to the latest performer, which included footage of his career at Disney.

Before the first of Friday, descendants Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart and Sofia Carson – with director Kenny Ortega – spoke with ABC News to discuss Boyce's legacy in a moving interview aired earlier this week:

The Cameron Boyce Foundation was created shortly after the death of the actor. According to its official mission statement, the foundation "provides young people with artistic and creative opportunities as alternatives to violence and negativity and uses resources and philanthropy to bring positive change to the world."
