President of US House and her delegation leave Ghana Wednesday for the United States
The Speaker of the US House, Nancy Pelosi, addressed Wednesday the Parliament of Ghana during a historic visit.
"We are deeply moved to be here," she told Parliament.
President Pelosi is in Ghana with a US Congressional delegation for high level talks and a commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the slave trade.
The Australian delegation, received by the Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, Professor Mike Oquaye, includes the House majority bad James Clyburn, Black Congress Black Caucus Chair Karen Bbad, and the House representatives, Barbara Lee and John Lewis.
In a speech that praised the virtues of relations between Ghana and the United States, she said that Ghana was a bright star on the African continent.
As a result, the United States continues to seek Ghana for a partnership in the areas of security and development.
With regard to education, she advocated for the education of women.
In her words, "When a woman succeeds, the world succeeds."
On health care, she said, "Every person should have access to basic care. People have to live healthy and fulfilling lives. "
It has a lot to do with environmental justice.
According to her, taking care of the environment leads to prosperity.
"The planet is the creation of God and we have the moral responsibility to protect it".
In conclusion, she "thanked the Ghanaian people on behalf of the world".
Ghana's Speaker, Professor Mike Oquaye, described the speech as inspiring.
