HO CHI MINH CITY, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) – The number of people suffering from food poisoning in Vietnam has almost decreased in January compared to the same period last year, but that of patients with dengue fever has has been multiplied by 1.5, announced the Department of Preventive Health Sunday.
Last month, 15 people were intoxicated by food, two of whom died. In January 2018, Vietnam reported 145 victims of food poisoning without deaths.
The country detected 4,300 dengue patients, nearly 1,600 people with foot-and-mouth disease and 14 cases of viral encephalitis in January, compared with 2,900, 1,100 and 14 cases in the same period last year.
Vietnam currently has 208,900 HIV carriers, of whom 95,370 have become AIDS patients, the department said.
