Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu, said that the insurgency vigilance system in the country could turn into uncontrollable chaos if it had not stopped in its path.
According to him, militancy that has its roots since independence is still a struggle.

"This impunity must be stopped as it pbades. If we do not stop political vigilance, it could go from "boot for boot" to "bombshell". The conflict is so close to us. If we do not put our house in order because of internal conflicts, vigilance could degenerate, "he said.
The majority leader also warned young people against joining a group of political militias, adding that it was a waste of time and a sterile cause.
"Why should young people put themselves in danger for someone else to gain political power? There is a profusion of patriotic and disinterested people in Ghana who are ready to give their lives for this country. Many of us want to sacrifice their lives to some because they have promised them paradise. We can badure them that they will not come near it.
Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu spoke at an event on the theme "Curbing political vigilance: the taking of the media".
The media was encouraged to support the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, as was the promotion of sound and responsible governance in the priority areas and strategic objectives benefiting Ghanaians.
Shame on delinquents
Affail Monney, president of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), said the media, as the fourth branch of government, should not compromise the designation and shame of those involved in the vigilantism.
"As media professionals, with an ambitious project to dissolve vigilance, we should name and shame anyone or any group that is an obstacle to the elimination of vigilance and return them to the trash cans of history. . "
On the Vigilance Bill, he added, "It is said that any law without an element of education is a hallucination. Thus, after the adoption of the law, as media professionals, we have the imperative duty, in the supreme national interest, to educate Ghanaians to the provisions of the law, in order to get them to hold this law, to internalize them in their daily lives. "
