The representative of the 6th district of Batangas, Vilma Santos-Recto, plans to run for senator in 2022 or to retire from politics.
Santos-Recto confirmed on Monday that she had two options: run for a Senate seat or withdraw from politics altogether after decades of public service.
“Nothing is final. For now, I’m still thinking about my plans for 2022,” Santos-Recto said.
The wife of Senator Ralph Recto, the former actress began her political career as mayor of Lipa City. She then became governor of the province of Batangas. In 2016, she ran to Congress and won.
