Virgil van Dijk responded to the English fans who had booed him in the League of Nations saying "I'm not sure".
The Liverpool defender received an icy reception from the Three Lions fans every time he touched the ball during the Netherlands' win over England.
Gary Lineker called the action "embarrbading" during the match on Twitter, but Van Dijk said it had no effect on him or her match.
"I'm not sure if anyone kicks me off or bumps the team, it's because we're trying to win the game," Van Dijk said.
"We know we have a lot of support behind us anyway, so it's us, the players, who have to do the work, it does not affect me at all."
Holland lost Sunday against Portugal in the league finals.
After the match, the center back revealed his disappointment.
"Yes, it's a tough end to the season, we obviously wanted to win," Van Dijk said.
"But we have to keep our heads up, recover from this experience, learn from all that experience, because we have a young group and we have to make sure we can qualify for the Euro next summer.
"Before this tournament, if someone said we would be in the finals, we would win France, Germany and England, people would say you are crazy.
"We have to be proud of ourselves – we have made great progress as a team, on and off the pitch, so we have to keep going and make sure we reach the euro.
"Portugal is a totally different team from England, they waited for our mistakes, they sat down a bit and left us the ball.
"The pace of the match was not very fast, especially in the first half, but I do not think that they had a lot of good chances .In the end, they were a little luckier than us. . "
