Virgil van Dijk sent a congratulatory message to his Dutch team mate, Frenkie De Jong, after his signing in Barcelona.
De Jong was courted by Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, but signed a five-year contract with the Catalan giants.
Barcelona has split £ 65m to sign the Ajax midfielder, and the Amsterdam-based club is expected to pay an extra £ 9m through the transfer of variable bonuses.
The center back of Liverpool, Van Dijk, played alongside De Jong for Holland and followed the same youth academy as him at Willem II.

Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu also had some words of encouragement for the midfielder following his transfer Wednesday.
