Vitamin D is crucial for the overall health of the body because it helps keep muscles, bones and teeth healthy, the NHS said. Vitamin is needed to regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body. A lack of vitamin D can lead to serious complications, including osteomalacia, rickets or certain deformities. You may be at risk of vitamin D deficiency if you feel constantly tired and exhausted, this has been revealed.
Fatigue or fatigue may be caused by an inadequate diet of vitamin D, according to nutritionist Dr. Steven Lin.
This may be due to a lack of calcium absorption, related to vitamin D.
The defect can also result in painful bones – one of the first signs of a deficiency.
But you could also be at risk if you often have a damp head, Holland & Barrett added.
That's why newborns are often monitored for head sweats, he added.
Lin said, "Vitamin D deficiency is the health indicator that you need to know more often and more easily.
"Since it is quite difficult to take too much vitamin D, I would say that it is safe to badume that you could probably use a little more vitamin D in your life.
"I can not say too much: Vitamin D is essential for both your dental health and your overall health.
"Since Vitamin D is an integral part of the health of your immune system, some of the first symptoms of low vitamin D levels are general discomfort and easy disease.
"Keep in mind, some people are at a higher risk of having vitamin D deficiency than others."
The people most at risk of vitamin D deficiency are the elderly, overweight people and those who rarely venture out.
Everyone should aim for between 8.5 and 10 μg of vitamin D in a single day, the NHS said.
But during the autumn and winter months, the sun is not powerful enough to allow your body to make vitamin D.
It is therefore recommended that everyone take vitamin D supplements during these months to increase the amount in their diet.
A 10 mg supplement should be enough to help you avoid symptoms of vitamin D deficiency.
Talk to a doctor if you are worried about signs or symptoms of vitamin D deficiency.
