LONDON / BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Vodafone is still waiting to get EU antitrust approval for its $ 22 billion acquisition of Liberty Global's badets in Germany and Europe. Is here the middle of the year, announced Tuesday the group.
The second-largest mobile operator in the world has expressed confidence after receiving the European Commission's Statement of Objections, which outlined the supervisory body's concerns about the deal.
Reuters reported on March 20 that the EU's chief competition officer would warn the company of the possible anti-competitive effects of the proposed deal. The Commission had already expressed its concerns about the impact in Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.
"The Commission's statement of objections is part of the review process. We will review the declaration and continue our constructive dialogue with the Commission, "Vodafone said in a statement.
"We are still expecting to receive final approval in the middle of this year."
