- Vodafone Ghana has named its first Ghana CEO.
- Ms. Patricia Obo-Nai will replace the current CEO, Yolanda Cuba.
- His appointment takes effect on April 1, 2019.
Ms. Patricia Obo-Nai was appointed by Vodafone Ghana as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective April 1, 2019.
This makes Ms. Obo-Nai the first Ghanaian CEO of the company.
According to a statement issued by Vodafone Ghana, the new CEO is "an engineer by profession, she enters her new role with 22 years of experience in information technology and telecommunications. In addition, she has extensive commercial experience in the telecommunications sector. "
Prior to being appointed Executive Director, Ms. Obo-Nai was Director of Fixed Operations and Client Operations for Vodafone Ghana.
She joined Vodafone Ghana as Chief Technology Officer and member of the Executive Committee in January 2011.
Previously, she worked for 14 years for Millicom Ghana Limited, a Tigo operator.
Commenting on his appointment. Ms. Obo-Nai said, "I look forward to taking up my new position and leading the company into the next phase of its development. My goal will be to continue to push the boundaries of innovation and position Vodafone as the main competitor in the market. With the outstanding staff we have at Vodafone Ghana, I am confident that the company will remain a strong competitor in the sector here in Ghana. "
Ms. Obo-Nai will replace Yolanda Cuba, who returns to Vodacom Group in South Africa in April after successfully serving her three-year term in Ghana.
It was during Yolanda's tenure that Vodafone Ghana concluded the acquisition of the 4G spectrum. It also oversaw the restructuring of the company's balance sheet and improved commercial performance in the market. Relations between Vodafone Ghana shareholders also benefited from his advice.
Ms. Cuba said, "I congratulate Patricia on her new appointment. I think Vodafone is well positioned and will continue to prosper under Patricia's leadership. Qualification
Ms. Obo-Nai holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), an Executive MBA in Project Management from the University of Ghana, Legon, and an Executive Education of Insead (France) and Kellogg School of Management, USA.
She is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GHIE) and is a pbadionate film lover.
