Patricia Obo-Na succeeds Yolanda Cuba who joins the Vodakom group in South Africa
Vodafone Ghana has appointed Patricia Obo-Nai as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective April 1, 2019.
Patricia is a member of the Executive Committee of Vodafone Ghana and the first Ghanaian to be appointed Executive Director of Vodafone Ghana.
Engineer by profession, she enters her new position with 22 years of experience in information technology (IT) and telecommunications. In addition, she has extensive commercial experience in the telecommunications sector.
Until her appointment, Patricia was Director of Fixed Operations and Client Operations for Vodafone Ghana.
She also led the company's Consumer Business Unit. Patricia joined Vodafone Ghana as Chief Technology Officer and a member of the Executive Committee in January 2011. Previously, she worked for 14 years for Millicom Ghana Limited, a Tigo operator.
Commenting on her appointment, Patricia said; "I look forward to taking up my new role and leading the company into the next phase of its development. My goal will be to continue to push the boundaries of innovation and position Vodafone as the main competitor in the market. Patricia's appointment follows the return of Yolanda Cuba, the current CEO of the Vodacom Group in South Africa, in April after successfully serving her three-year term in Ghana.
During this period, it completed the acquisition of 4G Spectre, the restructuring of the company's balance sheet and helped to improve commercial performance in the market. Relations between Vodafone Ghana shareholders also benefited from his advice.
During his tenure as CEO of Yolanda Cuba, Vodafone maintained the superiority of its network and launched a number of innovative products, including the launch of the first-ever Fibre To The Home (FTTH) service in Ghana, "Ekikimi". , 10x and initiatives like Express WiFi with Facebook to improve connectivity for all.
It has secured a highly engaged customer base to maintain Vodafone as the second largest mobile operator in Ghana in terms of revenue sharing, even after the merger of two operators into the market.
On the operational front, it has led significant growth in key revenue lines, as well as improved operational efficiency and improved profitability for the company through its focus on operational efficiency.
