Vodafone executives displaying prices
Vodafone Ghana received five prestigious awards at the ninth edition of the Ghana Information Technology and Telecommunications Awards (GITTA), held in Accra.
According to a statement from Vodafone at the Ghana News Agency, the telecom company has won the business provider award of the year in the telecom sector for the second year in a row, as well as the wholesale carrier of the year.
The company's social impact digital initiatives, including the National Coding Program, which contributed to a digital revolution in Ghana, have earned it the Company of the Year Corporate Social Responsibility designation, indicates the press release.
Two senior officials from Vodafone Ghana have also been recognized for their immense contribution to the growth of the sector.
Vodafone's chief technology officer, Srabasti Bhattarjee, has been named chief technology officer of the year for, among other things, the company's 4G deployment direction, the statement said.
Angela Mensah-Poku, the former director of Vodafone Business, also received a special mention for her outstanding contribution to the business sector.
She was honored for presenting innovative products and initiatives that fueled the growth and success of small and medium enterprises in the country.
According to the statement, Ms. Patricia Obo-Nai, General Manager of Vodafone Ghana, said, "These awards are a recognition of our promise to guide our customers and stakeholders towards a bright future."
"In an ever-changing world, driven by the power of digital technology, we represent the confidence and optimism needed for successful navigation. We dedicate these awards to our customers and employees for their loyalty and their tremendous contribution during this trip, "she added.
GITTA is an annual event rewarding the sector that recognizes innovation and excellence in the telecommunications and ICT sectors.
