BERLIN (Reuters) – The German manufacturer Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) will offer incentives for the exchange to older diesel owners throughout Germany and not just in the 14 cities most affected by the emissions, the Bild newspaper reported on its website on Friday.
The newspaper added that details were still being worked out, but that the company would pay up to 9,000 euros ($ 10,200) per car, as previously envisioned.
Volkswagen could not be immediately contacted for comment.
