Rumors circulated Wednesday in local media that the club had been acquired by the former Ghana International and was to be transferred from its home base, Wa, in the Upper West region. .

This decision stems from the decision of the owner of the club and banker Kwesi Nyantakyi, the former president of the Ghana Football Federation, who is currently serving a lifetime ban on FIFA, to relinquish his role and manage the club. for the benefit of an indigenous Wa for an extended period. but no one could take a step forward, say the club's sources.

But a club statement signed by the director of operations, Nana Obiri Yeboah, says "that there is no truth" in the information about a takeover by Paintsil.

"The club has received proposals from potential investors offering different forms of investment in the club.

"However, no interest group has reached an agreement with a takeover or a partnership," parties said.

Nyantakyi formed the Wa All Stars in 2005 and two years later, they qualified for Premier League football and have maintained status ever since. During the 2015/16 season, the Northern Blues defied all chances of becoming Ghana's Premier League champions for the first time.
