GNA – West African Association for Literature and Commonwealth Language
Studies (WAACLALS) has completed its second three-day international conference
(WAACLALS 2019) organized by the Takoradi Technical University, Takoradi-Ghana.
It was under the theme
"Rethinking human dignity, human security and social development in
Africa "with a statement.
A five points
This communiqué drew attention to health problems such as hygiene and sanitation,
marginalization of women in policy making, detoxification / deregulation for women
society in good health, hybridization of African and Western ideologies and
the rule of law in governance and human rights.
The conference noted
with concern that, six decades after the abolition of the slave trade, Africa was
always faced with variants of human unworthiness that posed problems
the challenges to human security with hygiene and sanitation issues are paramount.
The conference called

respect for the rule of law in governance and human rights
and stated that the rule of law in the area of governance and human rights should underlie
governance structure in order to place everyone on restricted boundaries within
all business plans, with a view to ensuring equality before the law.
