WAFU NATIONS CUP 2019: Morocco will replace Sierra Leone
Despite being a North African team, Morocco will participate in the WAFU Cup 2019 as a guest, replacing Sierra Leone, unsure of football status.
The North African giants agreed to be invited and even attended the draw held in Dakar, Senegal on Wednesday.
The decision to invite Morocco to participate in the contest follows the uncertain status of Sierra Leone which is currently serving a FIFA ban because of government interference.
Sierra Leone was suspended after FIFA sent a letter to the country's Sports Minister expressing "grave concern" over the dismissal of Football Association President Isha Johansen and the Secretary General of the Football Association. 39, badociation, Christopher Kamara.
Isha Johansen recently won a lawsuit against the government and is expected to return to his FA Boss post, but the legal war is expected to drag on, causing tremendous chaos in this West African country.
The uncertain status of Sierra Leone forced the organizers to invite Morocco to participate in the tournament as a guest.
