(Reuters) – Walmart Inc. is considering launching an economical e-tablet for children under the brand name of its ONN store, Bloomberg reported.
The tablet will be manufactured by a Chinese vendor and will run on Google's Android operating system, according to images submitted to the US Federal Communications Commission, according to the Bloomberg report.
The report states that the price of the device and its launch date are not disclosed.
Walmart confirmed the tablet, but declined to comment further to Bloomberg. Reuters could not immediately reach Walmart for a comment.
