CRYSTAL PALACE rejected an offer of £ 50 million from Manchester United on Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer focused on right-back 21, the first part of a major overhaul of his defense.
But it is thought that the Eagles want at least £ 60 million for their under-21 British star, who has also been linked to Tottenham.
Sky Sports says United has been denied in what could be just a first move for Wan-Bissaka.
And over the weekend, the Eagles would have suggested that any deal includes United's elimination of Wilfried Zaha's sale clause.
Ivorian winger Zaha, 26, swapped Palace against Old Trafford for £ 15 million six years ago.
But he returned to Selhurst Park in 2015 for £ 6m and is now valued at least ten times that amount. United would currently get a high percentage if Zaha continued.
But Palace could make this clause a bargaining tool if United intensified its Wan-Bissaka hunt.
SunSport has already reported how United sent scouts to monitor him several times this season.
And Wan-Bissaka would have made it clear to the Eagles chiefs that he wanted to be part of the Solskjaer summer reshuffle at Old Trafford.
