WandaVision star Teyonah Parris promises that Marvel Studios’ first Disney + series will delve into Monica Rambeau’s story before Captain Marvel 2.

Marvel Studios’ first Disney + series, WandaVision, will delve into the life and times of Monica Rambeau of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, series star Teyonah Parris promises.

In WandaVision, Parris plays an adult version of the character Monica Rambeau, who once assumed the role of Captain Marvel in the original Marvel comics. A young version of Monica was introduced to the MCU in the 2019 movie Captain Marvel – set in the 1990s – as the daughter of Carol Danvers’ close friend, Maria Rambeau. Parris is set to reprise her role as the older Monica in Captain Marvel 2, which is currently scheduled for release on November 11, 2022.

Before Captain Marvel 2 happens, however, fans can expect WandaVision to shed some light on what Monica has been doing all this time. “We especially learn what Monica saw and lived and how they shaped her life,” Parris said. In addition to the role of Monica in WandaVision, Marvel Studios will continue to expand the onscreen Captain Marvel myth with Ms. Marvel, an upcoming Disney + series starring the character of Kamala Khan.

According to the official synopsis of WandaVision,
