Majeed Warishh Waris made 24 appearances for Nantes and scored four times this season

FC Nantes striker, Ghana, Majeed Waris, has strongly denounced the notion of egoism and tension within the Black Stars team, which prevents the team from winning matches. Trophies.

With the imminent CAN 2019, there is strong pressure for Ghana to finally put an end to the drought that has lasted for more than three decades despite an interruption of active local football.

Ghana lost in 2010 and 2015 editions of the African Cup of Nations against Egypt and Côte d'Ivoire respectively.

Waris, 27, has not yet registered any Afcon player for Ghana although he has been selected 31 times for the Black Stars.

He was thwarted by an injury twice when he was eligible to play.

He insists that past failures are due to bad luck rather than big ones.

"With the national team, there are a lot of rumors about these problems.

"When I'm at camp, I only think about winning and leaving.

"If we win trophies, no one will raise these issues.

"It's because we do not win, once we win, no one will talk about division.

"As players, all we have to do is focus on the victories to bring unity," he told Planet Sport Football Africa.

Loaned by Porto, Waris has made 24 appearances for Nantes and has scored four times this season.
