JOHANNESBURG – Lebo M music composer and veteran actor John Kani continue to wear the colors of the South African flag.

The stars shared their involvement and their experience before the premiere of the long-awaited film Lion King remake.

Lebo M, who collaborated on a new song with Beyoncé for the film, says the latest adaptation of the film is proudly South African.

"With this new film, there has never been a Lion King more South African than this one.We have the normal start of ingonyama of nants and you have the first voice you hear singing The Circle of Life is actually a South African, "said Lebo M.

Dr. Kani said that when the director of the film, Jon Favreau, approached him to tell him what he called Rafiki, he was still on the set. Black Panther but he did not think he was serious.

"So when Jon, the director, told me that I wanted you to play Rafiki, I was on the set of Black Panther and I did not know who this guy was, because the board is dark."

"He said I wanted you to express Rafiki and I thought it was Hollywood to say that they were trying to make you a star and that they would never come back, but he came back and we started working together, "said Kani.

Cbadper Nyovest, DJ Zinhle and Enhle Mbali Maphumulo also appeared on the red carpet at the film premiere in South Africa on Thursday night.
