Nana President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said the vigilantism bill tabled in parliament on Thursday will deal with people who promote violence in society, especially in elections.

The president said that in Sankore, in the southern district of Asunafo of the Ahafo region, at the start of his four-day working visit to the Bono and Ahafo regions.

Addressing the leaders and people of Sankore, he badured Ghanaians that the country would not witness any violence during his tenure as president.

"Next year's elections will be free from violence. The law will address all those who will engage in violence, if they are found guilty, regardless of their position, whether you are a member of Parliament or a Minister of State. "

He congratulated the residents of Sankoré for not having participated in the violence since last October.

He badured that Sankore would get his fair share of development projects, including schools.

According to him, the road from Sankore to Aboamu Kwarpong would be built during his tenure, noting that the Sinohydro agreement would help in that direction.

He added that former President Mahama had lied on the road that had been built under his tenure.
