The Association of Petroleum Marketing Companies (AOMC) has warned the public to be vigilant when purchasing fuel at any gas station, as some scrupulous gas station attendants have developed ways to exploit customers.

Mr. Agyemang-Duah, who is also the Executive Director of AOMC, in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Tema, described the activity as unacceptable behavior that sought to deceive the client.

He said every gas station has a visigometer, a measuring canister, which helps verify the accuracy of the fuel delivery, adding that every customer who feels cheated can ask to check from the visigauge to confirm the quantity. of product supplied.

“It is your right to ask for a visiometer to check the amount of fuel supplied to you by the station manager whenever you feel cheated, there are checks and balances in the area,” he said. he declares.

He added that “if the station manager did not want to cooperate, the problem could be reported to the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), the Association of Marketing Oil Companies or the head office of the filling station.

The AOMC industry coordinator said that the customer is an important part in the oil marketing space as such, he must sound the alarm “if he is not satisfied with the service of certain attendants “.

He said the improper conduct of some of the stakeholders in the oil marketing companies was of great concern to JIs and the culprits would be dealt with accordingly.
