On the eve of the release of the limited edition Ume / Virgin box Def Leppard – Volume 2The group's lead guitarist, Phil Collen, revealed that the band had started recording their next album several months ago.

He says about the group's 12th studio album that they have a "bunch of songs" in the bag. "In fact, we started it last year," he notes about the project, their follow-up to the eponymous release of 2015. "We started recording last year on tour."
Leppard performed the entire Hysteria album during their set. Slash with Myles Kennedy played the Friday bill on the main stage with Whitesnake, Blackberry Smoke and others. In addition, Tesla was in training; current album of the Californian band Shock was produced and co-written by Collen.
"On the Tesla album," said the guitarist, "we would be in a room like this playing the guitar, we actually started the new Def Leppard album in the same way. Strange trail on the road and it's really, that's how good you are going. "
He then added: "In the last album, we went to do one or two songs and in a week we had 12 songs and it was as if it had shocked us. [We thought] "It's already an album", and he's finished more than that. It happened very quickly and we did not even plan it. So I think [this album] will be different, there are already a lot of songs running. "
Today's bill (Saturday) presented by Slipknot at the 2019 download also includes a bill that also includes Die Antwoord, Trivium and others. Sunday's poster heads, Tool, will close the festival tomorrow, after the sets of Smashing Pumpkins, Slayer, Dream Theater and others.
