Brandon Flowers and the group, who are gearing up for a return to Glastonbury in June, presented a special show on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (April 1st). Taking the stage at the Zappos Theater in their hometown of Las Vegas, the independent group has gone through a handful of their greatest hits.

The opening of the set of six songs – including "Read My Mind", "The Man" and "Mr Brightside" – was the band's politically charged song, "Land Of The Free". Flowers was sitting behind a grand piano for his first outing, supported by the band and a full choir.

Elsewhere in the series, The Killers faced the title "Carolina in My Mind" by James Taylor in 1968. The concert was recorded for broadcast on two episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Meanwhile, Brandon Flowers recently said NME that he did not expect a split reaction to 'Land Of The Free'.

"We have a lot of support and I think people are for the most part agree with him," said the leader. "I'm just surprised that nobody wrote it before me. As soon as Trump was elected, everyone was talking about all the art that was about to start and his enthusiasm. I just did not see that.

"Partly out of frustration, I just felt it was my job to reflect on what was going on. I'm getting older and you're starting to worry more about this stuff. I have children and they come to adulthood and I just felt the need to do it. "

On the impending return of the killers to Worthy Farm, Flowers said, "We appreciate the tradition and what it means to feature Glastonbury. It's huge. "
