The owners of the chalet were torn in the second half and sent to the championship.

Fulham was relegated following a 4-1 defeat at Watford and Scott Parker felt that the way they had collapsed after sinking in the second half embodied their season.

The Cottagers were to avoid defeat on Tuesday at Vicarage Road to keep their hopes of survival alive, but a ninth consecutive loss left them 16 points behind the security with just five games left.

Ryan Babel canceled the opening score of Abdoulaye Doucoure, but Javi Gracia's tactical switch to the break proved decisive. Will Hughes, Troy Deeney and Kiko Femenia all found the bottom of the nets in the space of 12 minutes.

Publisher's choice

Parker, tentatively named after Claudio Ranieri's dismissal in February, said the fate was an indication of why Fulham will play the championship next season.

"We played well in the first half, but eventually in the second half, after the second goal, it's a snapshot of our season," Parker said.

"We can not face a storm, but in the league you get out of it, but in this division you do not get away with it.

"I'm tired, I realized how huge the task was, and we all understood how difficult it was to stay in the division, but the most disappointing thing is how we lost.

"It's just us in an instant, if you have not looked at us this season, but have seen that time when two, three and four came in, it's us.

"I'm sure there's a mental problem, when you're at the bottom of the hierarchy everything becomes a lot more difficult, there was some naivety in some cases of some games, and it was spread tonight.

"The locker room is visibly disappointed.Everyone is overwhelmed, as you can imagine. It is a team of relegated players, so they are disappointed."

Fulham has five games to play in his season, with Saturday's showdown against Everton.
