We Can Preserve Our Cultural Heritage With Photography – Nana Kobina Nketsiah

Nketiah VI, the traditional Omanhen region of Essikadu emphasized the
relevance of photography in the preservation and protection of the cultural heritage of each
nation.

He said photography remained a powerful tool
who could capture moments, history and our heritage to inspire the future
generations.

He noted that preserving the country
cultural heritage was an essential cultural base for strengthening cohesion
of the nation, strengthen national unity, energize the national spirit for
socio-economic development.

"The images, in addition to showing the story, capture
moments we seem to lose. Any photography that captures moments and
Heritage must be encouraged to inspire the future, "he said.

Nana Kobina Nketiah made these remarks to
the opening of a photographic exhibition at Cape Coast Castle as part of
activities marking the 2019 PANAFEST / Emancipation Day celebrations and the
"Year of return".

It was set up by FYNexhibits, a
photography consulting firm in collaboration with Central Regional
Development Committee (CEDECOM) on the theme "Ghana, our heritage".

"These are relevant images capturing
moments of joy, emotions, they excite beyond imagination, "he said
go around to see the variety of images presented at the exhibition.

"Fynn was able to capture every moment
the time of the PNDC through the fourth republic, social, political and cultural ",
he added.

Sharing his taught on "the year of return",
Nana Kobina Nketiah congratulated Ghana for taking the responsibility of hosting the
event, adding that Pan-Africanism had become a Ghanaian responsibility.

According to him, "the year of the return" was
symbolic and lies in the fact that its exhibition marks a milestone of strengths
and resilience of African ancestors

He said everything that helped to reach the
Atlantic and promotes African heritage, spirit and human dignity promotes
fraternity and should therefore be encouraged.

Mr. Thomas Fynn, Executive Director of
FNNexhibit said that he shared Ghana's imagined marketing vision as a
first investment destination and representative for tourists and investors
ecotourism, ethnocultural heritage and its socio-cultural heritage.

He explained that the initiative to mount
Ghana's staffing was local and sought to bring attitudinal attitudes
change, cultural renewal and a new sense of patriotism.

He said that he's trying to shine the spotlight on
outstanding contemporary photographs that demonstrate a deep culture
heritage to encourage tourists to explore other aspects of the country.

He said he traveled a lot to get on
exhibitions and conferences outside Ghana, there were none that sold Ghana
its embbadies abroad.

Mr. Fynn stated that FNNexhibit intended to publish
a photo book from Ghana and mobilized media support to spread
Ghana's investment and tourism potentials through the magic of photography.
