Akonnor 2 C.K Akonnor, coach of Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko's coach, CK Akonnor, admitted that his team was struggling after losing 1-0 to Medeama SC in the second match of the special competition of the Standards Committee.

The Porcupine Warriors outpaced the Aduana Stars in their first game but were sentenced to a loss to Medeama SC in their second match on Wednesday afternoon in Tarkwa.

S addressing the media after the match, the coach admitted that his team was struggling to find its pace after leaving the CAF Confederations Cup.

"It's over, but again, we need to improve the way we handle matches.

"If we want to come back to Africa, it is important to win our matches, but we are fighting because we have lost a lot of key players. We played without a striker and some of them are suspended.

"There is a bit of a misunderstanding about how we manage things. I hope we can rectify that and move forward, "he said.

The Porcupine Warriors will face Eleven Wonders in Nkoranza on Sunday.
