John Boadu, Secretary General of the New Patriotic Party
New Patriotic Party Secretary-General John Boadu said his party, the NPP, had made about 80 promises it had made to the people of Ghana ahead of the 2016 general election, reports ABC News.
The secretary general of the NPP added that nearly 120 more of these promises made before the 2016 elections are also about to be fully held.
According to John Boadu, the NPP's ability to make so many promises in just two-and-a-half years is an indication of what the party can do for Ghanaians when it is kept in power.
"We have not been in power for eight, twelve or sixteen years, but let's see how we kept our promises. If Ghanaians have the patience to give us more opportunities, they will know where the country is, "he told Accra-based Peace FM.
He praised the achievements of the NPP in recent years while accusing the NDC of leading the country to challenges.
"When NDC came to power, we slept in the dark during the first half of their eight years. NDC had no money to run and distribute electricity, we have been able to stop the dumsor for two and a half years.
"We have cleared the NHIS arrears that the NDC party left behind. Even with the Menzgold problem, if we had not come to power, it was as if "God was love" and what had happened to Bono Ahafo: the NDC party had been watching for people to be scammed . We have invested nearly 13 billion Ghanaian Cedis to help depositors from various banks who are not able to bring their money to the exact level that should be so that their funds do not go astray. "
"In two and a half years, we have been able, for the first time in our history, to pay training and nursing schools compensation that the NDC could not pay after eight years of power," he said. .
John Boadu also spoke about the free SHS policy that, according to him, has allowed more than 200,000 students to benefit from a free secondary education.
"Thanks to our investment in education, more than 200,000 additional students who have not been able to continue their education after completing the JHS program are able to attend high school."
"Where would these students be in the future if we had not invested in their education?" He asked.
He explained that the project "Plant for food and employment" was not included in the 2016 NPP and yet had proceeded smoothly, suggesting that this policy was becoming one of the best policies. never introduced by a government in Ghana.
"We did not even add a culture and food policy in our manifesto, but we started to improve it gradually and I badure you that within four years you will see the difference in mbad between the MPN and other political parties. ", he said.
