The New Patriotic Party (NPP) prayed for a successful and prosperous second term for President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo.
The outgoing party presented their supplication to Almighty God during a national service of thanksgiving held on Sunday, December 27, 2020.
“It is the hope and the prayer of the party that the good Lord continues to bless our dear country and its leaders, and may He make the second term of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo even more successful and prosperous” , said the party.
In a statement released by the NPP and seen by JoyNews, NPP General Secretary John Boadu said the service was dubbed, “Ebenezer, so far the Lord has helped us… For the battle is with the Lord” (1 Samuel 7:12, 1 Samuel 17:47) took place following a peaceful 2020 general election.
Mr. John Boadu also applauded the party leaders, members of the campaign teams and the media for their immense support in ensuring a peaceful election and the victory of the NPP in the polls which have just ended.
The prayer sessions were led by several Reverend Ministers including Reverend Fr. Andrew Campbell, Reverend Dr. Justice Offei Akfrofi, Bishop Owusu Bempah, Reverend Frimpong Manso among many others.
The National Thanksgiving Service brought together party leaders, government officials, elected members of Parliament, party supporters and members of the general public.
