Jeremy Wrathall, chief executive officer of Cornish Lithium PLC, said local community members seeking to invest in the company had already expressed a keen interest.
Today, Cornish Lithium has launched a crowdfunding campaign via Crowdcube to raise £ 1m for drilling sites in Cornwall.
"We are a British company and we want a British crowd invested in this project," he told Proactive.
"We want to free the local community."
The government is aware that the country needs raw materials for the next electric vehicle revolution and that the best lithium source in the UK is in Cornwall.
