Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Winneba – Father Abbot Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni
Students from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), canceled their peaceful protest scheduled for Monday, March 18, 2019, stating that this protest was the result of Alexander Kwamena's intervention. Afenyo-Markin and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
Former students and current students were to embark on another demonstration although the Central Regional Security Council (REGSEC) had closed the school to badert their claims, but observed that rapid intervention by lawmakers had saved the situation.
They demand, however, that the Vice Chancellor of the University, Reverend Father, Professor Anthony Afful-Broni, resign from his post or be dismissed from the institution to prevent peace.
A statement issued by the group and signed by Agyapong Osei Victor, with a copy to MyNewsGh.com, said: "To ensure total peace, we categorically declare that the Vice Chancellor of the University, the Rev. Professor Anthony Afful-Broni resigns or is dismissed from the University. We also ask that alumni elections be held so that alumni can benefit from the representation they deserve on the university's governing board. "

SUBJECT: POSTPONEMENT OF THE PEACE PROTEST EXPECTED TO 18 MARCH 2018
UEW students and alumni wish to express our deep gratitude to our esteemed honorable dignitaries; Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong for their timely and invaluable intervention that helped restore calm on the campuses affected by the mbadive protests of the University of Education Winneba.
We would like to point out that the students never intended to cause damage to the property of the school.
It's an open secret that the protest went off quietly for three days without any damage.
However, on Thursday, March 14, 2018, in order to execute an alleged "top order", the police, without any provocation, fired rubber bullets and tear gas at the students.
This in order to disperse the students who were protesting to suggest that there was extreme calm on campus and that there were no mbadive student protests at the school. 39, University of Education, Winneba, as claimed by the Ag. CBC President of the School.
The flagrant demonstrations of violence and unprofessional behavior by the police had the opposite effect and sparked unprecedented fury among the disapproved body of the students.
We firmly believe that all University staff falsely fired will be reinstated, as the Hon. Markin, which is a very good step to bring back peace and development to the University.
Due to efforts to bring peace and development to the University, the planned peaceful protest that was scheduled to take place on March 18, 2019 has been postponed.
On a sad note, it appeared to us that people had been hired to discredit the good course for which the university students fought.
We want these people to know that, regardless of what is said or written in the media, UEW students and alumni concerned remain steadfast and committed to ensuring the restoration of peace and absolute order in the world. 39, University of Education Winneba.
In light of this, The Concerned Students and Alumni wish to reiterate the fact that the reinstatement of the wrongly dismissed staff of the University is not the total solution to the epic chaos that devastated the University.
To ensure total peace, we categorically declare that the vice-chancellor of the University, the Reverend p. Professor Anthony Afful-Broni resigns or is dismissed from the university.
We also call for the holding of elections for alumni to obtain the necessary representation it deserves on the university's governing board.
We therefore call all the regional coordinators of the students concerned and alumni to suspend the transport project for students and former students coming from near or far from the University because the event will not take place but wait patiently for new directives .
The Concerned Students and Alumni have supported the student population and fully subscribe to their revolutionary actions, which will go a long way towards ensuring that UEW is delivered from the hands of tyrannical leadership and the legitimate path of academic freedom, truth, justice and rapid development that it has long deserved.
