The largest opposition party of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced its boycott of the media platform, Citi TV over what it calls a disrespect of an NDC panelist, MyNewsGh.com reports.
In Director, Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC is appended by the disrespectful treatment to its members, Ambrose Amoah Ashyia on the TV station.
"As a result of this disruption of Citi TV towards the NDC," "The Communicators are to abstain from participating in Citi TV's morning political talk show program." statement said.
ATTENTION: ALL NDC COMMUNICATORS, OFFICIALS AND MEMBERS.
This is to inform all NDC Communicators, members, officials and the general public that effective today, Wednesday, 17th January 2019, the NDC has boycotted Citi TV's morning Political program.
This decision was made by the gross disrespect to the NDC's representative who was billed to appear on that program yesterday morning.
In line with the party 's new panel placement policy, the party upon the approval of the producers Hon. Ambrose Amoah Ashyia (Former DCE for Upper Denkyira West) to represent the NDC on Citi TV yesterday morning. The NDC's rep duly arrived at the station and went through make-up and all pre-arrangements to get it seated for the program.
However, in a weird turn of events, the NPP's rep, Hon. Dr. Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah (MP for Kwadaso) who arrived after 8:00 am, which was the start time for the program, requested that he be unwilling to debate the NDC's rep on the program. To our shock and disbelief, the NDC's repre- sented program for the program, and the experience of the NPP staff of Citi TV, has reduced the panel to an all-NPP affair.
Musah Anas Seidu, the producer of the program, has confirmed that we are welcome on the show. However, it was futile, neither was the NDC given an opportunity to replace our rep.
As a result of this crisis of disrespect by Citi TV Towards the NDC, the party hereby, effective today and furthermore, all Communicators are to abstain from participating in Citi TV's morning political talkshow program.
