Ghana's Minister of Health, Kweku Agyeman-Manu, said the government would only export nurses with significant experience in Barbados to work there.

He added that nurses who have just graduated will not be sent abroad because they do not have the necessary field experience.

"We want those who have a certain level of experience.We need those who have practiced a little, a few years in the profession, and when they go to work hard, people will continue to demand more from us … Mr. Agyeman-Manu said during a four-day working visit to the Ashanti region that he addressed the staff and students of the College of Nursing Education. and Komfo Anokye midwives in Kumasi.

He quickly added, however, that the government's decision to export nurses to Barbados was not decisive because it had to prompt the Caribbean nation government to facilitate the process and to ensure that Exported nurses benefit from better treatment and also bring money back home to support the economy.

Mr. Agyeman-Manu also badured students that the government would do its best to meet the needs of the health sector.

For his part, the general director of Komfo Anokye Nurses and Midwives Training College, Mr. Francis Amonu Asamoah, called on the government to build a bungalow for school teaching staff.
