Mustapha Hamid, Minister of Development of Inner Cities and Zongo, said it would help women who produce all kinds of delicacies to package their products to get better sponsorship.
On Tuesday, he said, it was unfortunate that all kinds of delicious foods and drinks were prepared and sold cheaply, while others pack and sell the same food to make a fortune.
"The president has mandated us [Ministry] to improve the livelihoods of people in these communities to help them develop their businesses, pack them properly and generate more profits, "he said.
He cited the example of how tamarind is wrapped in a drink and sold in Shell stores and other luxury stores in the country when it is sold cheaply by Zongo women.
The former Information Minister said that his office, in conjunction with the National Council of Small Industries (NBSSI), would teach business women and caterers to add value to their food and their drinks.

"We will also increase their market access by compiling a Zongo food and beverage album that will highlight the foods and ingredients used to prepare them. These albums will be sent to all our embbadies around the world, "he explained.
He thinks this will give interested visitors of the country an idea of unique foods and drinks, so that they will be able to try them once they come to visit them.
"As I said, we will do it without excuses … our mission is to help the people of Zongo and on Tuesday we started to broadcast ads in the media to ask these women to apply for benefit of help, "he said.
Dr. Mustapha Hamid said 300 candidates from Accra would be welcomed and badisted on a pilot basis. Other regions, he said, will be examined later.
