The experienced goalkeeper moves from Millwall to London stadium and the switch will see him also reunited with Xavi Valero
David Martin is confident that he can learn from manager Manuel Pellegrini after the goalkeeper has agreed to join his childhood idols on a two-year contract.
Pellegrini has helped West Ham to be in the top 10 in the Premier League for the first time since 2016, in his first season as head of the club. The former boss of Real Madrid and Manchester City is setting up his team for the next term.
The experienced goaltender, Martin, will arrive from Millwall this summer. He is excited about the opportunity to work with someone of the caliber of Chilean.

Martin said to the official website of the club: "I look forward to working with someone like Manuel Pellegrini. He has so much experience and I can learn a lot from him.
"I have known him since his stay in Manchester City, his caliber as a manager and what he did here last year. It was not easy to come to a big club like this, to adopt this style of football and bring so many new recruits. "
Martin will join Lukasz Fabianski and another new rookie, Roberto Jimenez, as team goalkeepers for the 2019-2020 season.
Fabianski joined the club from Swansea in the summer of 2018 and was named "Hammer of the Year" in his first campaign, while Roberto arrives from Espanyol for a two-year contract.
Martin looks forward to the challenge of fighting for a place in the team. However, the 33-year-old understands the threat that the other two goalies will represent.
He added, "I have always been an enthusiastic person and I never know when I will be beaten. So I go every day to train with this attitude and I will compete with Lukasz and Roberto.
"I remember that Roberto was in Zaragoza and he has been to a few clubs since. We have a very similar age and it will be good to fight him in training and compete with him.
"It goes without saying how good Lukasz is. He proved to be one of the best goaltenders in the Premier League last season. Wanting to play against them and try to improve will be great. "
The move to West Ham will also give Martin the opportunity to work again with goalkeeper coach Xavi Valero after two years together in Liverpool.
Martin thinks he can still evolve as a player and thinks he's in the best hands to do it with his Valero coach.
"I've worked with Xavi Valero in Liverpool and he's probably one of the best goalie coaches in the world," he said.

"Since then, he has been to Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Naples. I can not wait to see what he has picked up, from the point of view of experience.
"He is a great man and he is on the leading edge of the goalkeeper. Sometimes you can have the best training in the world, but you need someone who detects mistakes in your game so you can improve, and he goes into details.
"I think that's what sometimes makes the best goalkeepers in the Premier League better. To learn from him will once again be a true honor.
