Apart from the first round that saw the girls follow their male counterparts, the Wey Gey Heys posted a consistent performance and kept the line to finish the competition with flying colors.

The R. S. Amegashie Auditorium of the Business School of the University of Ghana, Legon, Accra, where the contest was held, was electrified by supporters of different schools chanting and encouraging their teams to victory.

Intermittent screams and cheers accompanied each question that was answered correctly, while the unanswered questions were greeted by disappointing faces from candidates and supporters.

It was an elbow race between the girls' school and the Achimota school, with the older girls giving up their two-point lead when they did not answer one of the "True or False" questions.

It was a nervous moment as both parties were sitting on hooks, not knowing for whom the pendulum would swing.

However, it was the women who had the best loot in the last round by answering three riddles to score nine points that finally gave them eight points ahead of their closest rivals Achimota.

Prempeh College finished the day by sticking to the 26 points they had accumulated in the first three rounds and added only one point to the pbading line, the last.

Wesley Girls High School is the only school that has not won the contest since its launch in 1994.
