Actress Lydia Forson wonders why politicians are constantly “rewarded for their bad behavior” when punishment is inflicted on people who have committed crimes she calls “petty.”
In a tweet on Friday January 22, 2021, the opinionated actress who has repeatedly berated politicians for failing to meet the needs of the ordinary Ghanaian said: “We constantly punish the poor, vulnerable for petty crimes and reward the poor. rich / influential people to do worse. “
It is not known what triggered the tweet, but the remark came barely a day after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced the list of those appointed to ministerial positions in his second term.
The list has come under close scrutiny by citizens, with some expressing disgust at the nomination of certain figures who they believe should not have been nominated on the basis of their background.
When politicians are REWARDED for their bad behavior, what examples do we set for the ordinary citizen?
We are constantly punishing the poor, vulnerable for petty crimes and rewarding the rich / influential for doing worse.
