As England’s Premier League teams occupy the third round of the FA Cup, televised football in Europe turns to Spain this weekend:
The league: Real Madrid (11-3-3) can climb to the top of the championship for the first time since October with a victory at Osasuna (3-8-5), relegated, on Saturday (BeIN Sports, noon PT) and an Atlético Madrid ( 12-1-2) at the Athletic Club (6-9-3) earlier today (BeIN Sports, 7am). Real have lost only twice in their last 12 games dating back to mid-October. Meanwhile, Barcelona (9-4-4), undefeated in their last seven La Liga games, hope to keep pace when they travel to Granada (7-6-3) on Saturday (BeIN Sports, 9:30 am). With a loss, Barcelona could drop to fifth place in the table. Former Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi and Atlético’s Luis Suarez are tied for the league lead with nine goals apiece.
