Line of Duty fans finally begin their long-awaited fifth season, which debuts on BBC One on Sunday night.

Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar are back in AC-12. Newcomer Stephen Graham becomes John Corbett's "Balaclava Man" – perhaps the most terrifying villain in the series.

It's been two years since the last series broke out, so we'll forgive you for forgetting what happened in the fourth season and how it all ended last time.

Before the beginning of the fifth series, here is a brief reminder …

What happened during Season 4 of Line Of Duty?

The fourth season dealt with an investigation into a serial killer wearing a hood – RI Huntley (Thandie Newton) becoming suspicious after his colleague, police investigator Tim Ifield (Jason Watkins), accused her to have removed the evidence that had led to the innocent, Michael Farmer (Scott Reid) being found guilty.

AC-12 investigated more of Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) who was under cover of her team – but complications occurred when Ifield was reported missing. It turned out that Huntley had killed him after confronting him about what he knew.

He had been scratched in the arm during the fight that caused his death and had gone to great lengths to conceal the evidence, even though he remained with more and more serious wounds and l & # 39; Arm amputation due to MRSA.

However, Huntley tried to hide his crime further, even accusing his own husband, Nick Huntley (Lee Ingleby), of being found guilty.

She was finally jailed for 10 years after confessing the murder.

Meanwhile, the mystery of Balaclava's man continued, and Steve Arnott (Compston) was trapped in one of them during an altercation that threw him on a flight of stairs , leaving him in a wheelchair.

Although no one has been identified as the culprit, this theme should continue in the fifth series, graciously offered by newcomer Graham, as a criminal, John Corbett.

When is the service line activated?

Season five starts on BBC One Sunday night at 9pm.
